Here are some frequently asked questions
to get you started....

Q. What is Two Factor Authentication?
A. Two Factor Authentication is a solution that protects your access to our secure banking web site by providing strong authentication.

Q. Why is Two Factor Authentication necessary?
A. We believe that although single factor authentication (the combination of user name and password to identify and authenticate a user) is the standard way of safeguarding our customer accounts at logon, we can do better. A variety of security threats – including Trojans, keystroke loggers, and phishing – are becoming more and more sophisticated. In order to give you the best online protection, we have decided to offer you Two Factor Authentication.

Q. Why do I have to enroll in this new service?
A. New government regulations require enhanced security for users. This service provides that security layer.

Q. What is OnGuard?
A. OnGuard is the security system used with our Commercial Banking Online product in order to offer our customers Two Factor Authentication.

Q. How does Two Factor Authentication work?
A. When you first enroll with our Two Factor Authentication system (OnGuard), you will be requested to select personal security questions and provide answers for each question. Every time you logon to our secure site, OnGuard analyzes the way you are currently accessing our site. OnGuard compares this with information stored from your previous logons, analyzing more than 15 different parameters for each access. If OnGuard determines your current access method is different, for example, you are logging on from a new computer for the first time, you will be challenged to answer a question. OnGuard will also challenge you at certain intervals.

Q. Is participation required, and how and when can I sign up?
A. Participation is required. However, during the initial enrollment period, previous Internet Banking customers will be allowed to skip the OnGuard enrollment a few times. If you skip enrollment, OnGuard will not be able to provide you with access protection. We recommend that you enroll for OnGuard protection as soon as possible.

Q. When will OnGuard challenge my account access?
A. At logon, OnGuard compares the way you are currently accessing the site against your previous logons. OnGuard will compare over 15 distinct characteristics of your access; differences will activate OnGuard to challenge you to answer one of the personal questions you set-up for yourself. Also, at specific intervals, OnGuard will challenge you if you have not been challenged recently.

Q. What are the benefits of OnGuard?
A. OnGuard helps protect access to your account by providing strong authentication with minimal inconvenience to you. You are not required to install any special software, or use any special hardware. In fact, for most logons you will need to do nothing more than just enter your Login ID and Password as usual, while OnGuard invisibly protects your access behind the scenes.

Q. I am locked out. How do I access my account?
A. Please call Electronic Banking Services at 502.259.2375 for reset assistance.
